Terms of Service
Last updated September 2026
These terms govern your use of 8Signals. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. They should be read together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Risk Disclosure.
01What 8Signals provides
8Signals is an information and research service. It collects publicly available material, organises it, and presents analysis of possible economic consequences. It does not provide personal recommendations, portfolio management or any regulated advisory service, and it is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing on the platform is an offer, solicitation or inducement to buy or sell any investment.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.
03Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration details, for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Accounts are for individual use and may not be shared. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised access.
04Acceptable use
You may not scrape, resell, redistribute or systematically extract 8Signals content, attempt to circumvent access controls, entitlements or rate limits, reverse engineer the service, interfere with its operation or security, or use it for any unlawful purpose including market abuse or manipulation. Breach may result in immediate suspension.
05Intellectual property
The platform, its analysis, scoring methodology, interfaces and branding belong to 8Signals. Your plan grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own purposes while your subscription is active. Anything you submit — watchlists, notes, support messages — remains yours; you grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you.
06Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are not currently available for purchase. When billing opens, prices, billing period, renewal terms and taxes will be shown before you pay and will form part of these terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and retain access to the end of the paid period. UK and EU consumers have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription; because access is provided immediately, you may be charged in proportion to use before cancelling. Refund conditions are set out in the Refund Policy.
07Third-party sources
8Signals links to and summarises material published by regulators, governments, companies, news organisations and public social platforms. Those publishers own their content and 8Signals does not warrant its accuracy, completeness or availability. Links to original sources are provided so you can verify anything yourself.
08Availability and changes
The service is provided on an as-is basis and is under active development. Features may change, be withdrawn or be interrupted, and no uptime is guaranteed on free plans. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features. We may update these terms; material changes are notified in advance and continued use after they take effect means acceptance.
09Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time from Account → Privacy. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law, giving notice and a chance to put things right where it is reasonable to do so. On termination your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 8Signals is not liable for investment losses or for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
11Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence. Please raise complaints with us first through the contact form — we respond within five working days.
12Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact form or from the account area once signed in. A registered company name and address will be published here before commercial launch.
This page is a plain-language summary of how 8Signals operates. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before commercial launch.
